
ROBIN RIVELAND- Director | Kindermusik | Suzuki Violin and Piano | Baby Sign
Robin Riveland is Arioso Music Academy's director. She has attended both UND-W and UND, and is a certified and licensed early childhood music educator. She has been teaching children in music for over 17 years and teaching Kindermusik for the past 10 years. She is also a certified presenter of the Baby Sign2me presenter’s network. She is a wife and mother who homeschooled her 5 children their first years of school- a total of 15 years. Robin has been directing a fine arts studio for 8 years. Robin enjoys working with children and their parents helping to inspire creativity, musicality and excitement while raising their children. Robin is Suzuki trained and is a co-founder of the Suzuki STEP (Suzuki Talent Education Program)Program located at Arioso Music Academy.. Register for Classes
VICKI POGATSHNIK- Piano | Voice
Vicki Pogatshnik is a 1978 UND graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. Shei has taught K-12 vocal for over 18 years, directing choirs and preparing soloists and groups for contest. She has over 40 years experience in piano and has worked with church music as an organist, playing for weddings and funerals as well as church services. She is a traditional teacher but sensitive to the needs of each student, and prefers to start children at the age of 8. Beginning adults are welcome, as well as intermediate and advanced students. Vicki stresses technique, practice, and dedication; however, a good sense of humor is essential and having fun while learning. Vicki is also available as a wedding/events pianist. LIGIA CARINA FEO- Piano | Violin | Viola
Ligia Carina Feo studied music at the Thibaud-Piazzini Conservatoire in 1987. She has reached the 10TH degree in piano and the 12TH degree in double entry organ at Yahmaha Music Argentina. Ligia has played with numerous quartets , ensembles and orchestras working with many great composers and conductors. She was a violin and viola teacher for the USM String Program, Hattiesburg MS. She is currently playing for the GGFS Orchestra and coaching one of the Divertimento groups. Full resume is available upon request. NICHOLAS RIVELAND- Violin | Viola | Fiddling
Nicholas Riveland is a Freshman at UND majoring in Biology -pre-med and has been teaching violin, viola and fiddling for 5 years. He is a Suzuki trained violin player who loves to teach and specializes in fiddling. As well as playing violin, Nicholas took Star ratings at State competition 3 years in a row for French horn. Nicholas enjoys music and loves to share that with others. He believes technique is essential but you need to enjoy playing your instrument as well. Nicholas plays for weddings and special events. AARON CUSTER- Violin | Viola
Aaron Custer attended UND, majoring in music and has been teaching violin and viola lessons for about 10 years. He is currently teaching both in the Grand Forks area as well as Park River and Grafton. Aaron has taught young children as well as adults. To enhance his understanding and his ability to teach the young child, Aaron attended training for Suzuki teachers. Aaron has been a member of the Greater Grand Forks Symphony for the past 10 years. He likes to meet students on their level but expects students to want to play the violin and improve. Aaron plays for weddings and events. Register for Classes
DANIALL DEIS- Piano | Trumpet | Music Therapy
Daniall Deis is a Junior at the University of North Dakota. She is majoring in Speech Pathology. She has also taken up music education. Daniall is a creative, yet structured teacher who believes that each child learns differently and that the approach must be tailored to each student. She has experience working with many different handicaps, children with special needs, as well as elderly adults. Daniall teaches piano, trumpet, and voice lessons and is available for music therapy sessions for all ages. Register for Classes
SARAH SZERLONG- Piano | Voice | Choir for Homeschoolers
Sarah Szerlong is a graduate of UND and is currently teaching voice and piano lessons as well as doing counseling. Sarah has been active in music for over 15 years. Her teaching style is traditional but she believes in helping children experience music; using manipulatives often to help give her students music rather than just lessons. She also teaches choir for home school students.

ZACHERY RIVELAND- Violin
Zachery Riveland has 13 years of experience in lessons and playing the violin and has been teaching violin and viola for 3 years. He periodically plays viola in ensemble groups. He has been a member of the Greater Grand Forks Youth Symphony and Greater Grand Forks Junior symphony for 7 years. He has played in the Greater Grand Forks Divertimento Chamber program for 4 years, as well as being awarded All-State Honors. Zachery believes that technique is absolutely key to a solid and rewarding music future in string playing; therefore, his goal is to help student achieve technique progressively with every step. Zachery teaches Suzuki as well as traditional methods. Zachery plays for weddings and special events. Register for Classes
LINDSEY BLAIR- Piano | Upright Bass
Lindsey Blair is a bassist and piano player. She has been teaching lessons for 2 years. She is active in many Grand Forks music programs including symphony, Divertimento and Red River Chamber Festival with the Chiaras. Lindsey is a traditional teacher who is great with children and brings out the best of their musical attributes. Register for Classes
BERNIE THOMAS- Drums | Percussion
Bernie Thomas graduated from UND with music honors and has over 12 years of musical experience. He has been teaching for 6 years. He has played in a number of combos, symphonies, drum lines and other musical venues around the area. His teaching has a laid back, relaxed style, emphasizing that music can be invigorating and enjoyable, while still learning the discipline technique necessary to compete and succeed in a formal music environment. ANGELA HARRISON-URLACHER- Flute | Piccolo
Angela Harrison-Urlacher has played the flute and piccolo for 18 years and has been teaching since 1996. She has participated in a wide range of musical groups, from bands and orchestras to Renaissance flute consorts and gamelan orchestras. She teaches both children and adults of all skill levels. Karen Wyatt is an active performer and teacher who has taught for 8 years. Karen majored in music at Texas University on a full scholarship. She has played in numerous orchestras, ensembles. JEFFREY ANVINSON- Guitar
Jeffrey Anvinson has taught more than 23,000 individual lessons and 160 classes in a variety of settings - college, public school, private practice, and community education - over a span of three decades. He tries to understand the unique nature of each individual student and teach
accordingly. He has taught using a variety of methods during his career - Suzuki, traditional, creative, and computer-assisted - and tries to use the combination that works best with each student. He studied music at three universities and is an active performer (US, China, and Canada), composer, arranger, recording musician and engineer, and web designer.. Register for Classes
